I thought it was 2014
and I was in a Chinese food restaurant somewhere in Syracuse
it was really 2021 and I was waiting for the oven to preheat
thinking about how I needed a shower
but then isn’t it also 1994?
in an old house with a leaky basement
waiting for my birthday, then Christmas to give me any sense of meaning or change
both my dogs asleep on my bed
the smell of every dive bar I’ve seen a show at
buying weed from a kid on a side street
getting home in time for dragon ball z
none of these things ever happened at the same time
but they all happened right now.
